After narrowly evading a trap laid for him by Mason International, if Uroboros never saw Mason’s head of security Damian Durand again, it would be too soon.  Unfortunately for Uroboros, Durand used the considerable resources at his disposal to suss out the conspiracy blogger’s true identity and confronted him at his place of residence…

After murdering Dr. Marcus Alrand in cold blood, Uroboros went on the run. Shortly thereafter, Uroboros received a desperate cry for help from a loyal reader of his conspiracy blog “The Flashlight.” A woman known to him only as Rabid Mongoose claimed Mason International’s security team was bearing down on her, intent on doing her and her family harm. Uroboros endeavored to save his friend, only to discover that Rabid Mongoose was not who he thought she was.

Mongoose in Sheep’s Clothing

Several weeks ago, Uroboros found a kindred spirit in a Twitter follower called @rabid_mongoose. Rabid Mongoose had left him a comment on the Flashlight, claiming to be a single mom involved in a class-action lawsuit against Mason International, and Uroboros promptly invited her into the fold. After being conspicuously absent from Uroboros’ Mason International protest, Rabid Mongoose reported several days later that despite taking every precaution to cover her tracks, Mason International security had managed to track her down. Uroboros responded to her pleas for help, only to discover that it had been a trap, carefully laid by Mason International’s head of security Damian Durand. Rabid Mongoose had been Damian all the time, an invented identity Mason’s lackey had cultivated to infiltrate Uroboros’ inner circle. Uroboros narrowly evaded capture, but this cruel deception and his increasing isolation drove him down an even darker path.

What follows is a recap of Rabid Mongoose’s Twitter exchanges with Uroboros and his crew.

Episode 4.5: Be The Change

When Uroboros hacked Mason International’s mainframe, he obtained video logs of a scientist named Dr. Marcus Alrand. To all appearances, the subject of those logs had been illegal genetic experimentation on human subjects, performed by Alrand on Mason International’s dime. Uroboros then saw to it that Alrand answered for those crimes…

After establishing a link between a Konig Inc. warehouse and Max Mason, Uroboros announced that he and the Flashlight community would be holding a Mason International protest at the site.  This past Sunday, the conspiracy blogger and a handful of his friends and followers hoisted anti-Mason International signs outside said warehouse, garnering attention from the press.  But the arrival of an unexpected guest brought them the wrong kind of attention…

This past Sunday, Uroboros and a half-dozen of his followers staged a Mason International protest outside a warehouse which they believed was a secret Mason International lab engaged in illegal human experimentation.  Despite Uroboros’ best efforts, the peaceful protest quickly devolved into violence.

Digest 8/6 – 8/9

In case you missed any of this week’s new episodes, here’s all four in handy digest form. Great for catching up and retweeting en masse!

Episode 4

Making a living wage in Los Angeles is no easy task, and working as a superhero full-time, Laurel has no income to speak of. So when Emmett found himself in between jobs, something had to give. An ex-Marine by trade, Emmett makes most of his money doing corporate security work. So when he found himself poised to get a full-time security gig at a prosperous local company, it was not lost on him or Laurel just how much they had riding on this job interview.

Episode 4.1: “Mole Hunt”

For conspiracy blogger Uroboros, the files he acquired by hacking Mason International’s mainframe proved to be a gift that kept on giving. And far be it from Uroboros to keep those sordid details about everyone’s least-favorite pharmaceutical company to himself. In his latest “Flashlight” vlog, Uroboros posted internal Mason International surveillance footage which seems to suggest there is some dissension in the ranks between Mason’s head of Security Damian Durand and the rest of Mason’s security team.

Episode 4.2: “Making People Better”

Convinced that Uroboros’ skills as a hacker might be an asset in his war on Mason International, Fury of Solace formed a tentative alliance with the conspiracy blogger, with an eye towards uncovering incriminating Twitter correspondence between Mason International and a handful of shell companies allegedly engaged in illegal activities. Thanks to the involvement of the self-proclaimed prophet Augur and a few of Fury of Solace’s Twitter followers, it came to light that one such shell company, Konig Inc., had sent a private DM to Mason International only days earlier, requesting a new batch of (presumably human) test subjects. Click here for a more detailed account of these events.

Once the location of the Konig Inc. warehouse was uncovered, Solace decided that Uroboros’ usefulness was at an end, but Uroboros had every intention of acting on this new intel with or without Solace’s help.

Episode 4.3: “No Stone Unturned”

Seen prominently in Uroboros’ latest Flashlight vlog, Commissioner Harlan Stone is best known as the forward-thinking Los Angeles Police Commissioner who recently put forth a proposal to officially incorporate superhumans into the LAPD. His plan has yet to be approved by his fellow members of the police commission.

Stay tuned for more videos next week!

King’s Gambit

After Uroboros posted internal Mason International security footage on his conspiracy blog “The Flashlight,” Fury of Solace became convinced that Uroboros’ claims of having hacked into the Mason International mainframe were not exaggerated.  The two forged a tentative alliance in an effort to uncover incriminating Twitter correspondence between Mason International and some of the shell companies belonging to a local criminal kingpin known only as King.  Thanks to a helping hand from the self-proclaimed prophet Augur and a few of Fury of Solace’s Twitter followers, the duo was successful.

This is not the first time Augur has shared privileged information on Twitter.  Last time, he helped the Orphan unlock a password-protected video which allowed her to save Max Mason from Fury of Solace before the super villain’s bombs blew up Mason Tower.  But this time, Augur’s efforts were in support of Solace’s efforts to undermine Mason.  The source of Augur’s intel, and his motives, remain unknown.

Here’s how the event played out on Twitter:
